Collector’s Cabinet

Small works have always occupied a special place in the history of collecting. Intimate in scale, yet often remarkable in presence, they invite a different kind of attention.

Collector’s Cabinet brings together original works on paper, small paintings and selected editions by the artists of janinebeangallery.

MASCH

Over several decades, MASCH has developed a distinctive visual language that combines narrative lightness, subtle humour and a reduced formal vocabulary. His figures and geometric elements evoke both archaic imagery and the clarity of modern graphic systems.

Nick Zinner – Slept in Beds

For more than two decades, Nick Zinner, guitarist of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Iggy Pop, has photographed the beds in which he slept while touring. Situated between documentary observation and personal memory, the resulting images are quiet reflections on transition and absence.

James F. Johnston

Working between music and painting, James Johnston has developed a distinctive visual language over many years. Often intimate in scale, his works combine figurative elements with a direct and poetic openness and are held in international collections.
