Artistic Position
Juan Miguel Pozo combines architecture, urban landscapes, political history and personal memory in his paintings. Facades, fragments of writing, historical ornament and urban spaces become pictorial architectures in which different periods coexist.
His work reflects the experience of living between different social systems and cultural environments. Cuba, Germany and international visual sources overlap without resolving into a single narrative. Through perspective, collage and painterly displacement, Pozo questions the apparent permanence of architecture and history.
