Nick Zinner, Berlin, 2004
Fine Art Print · Gallery Edition
During the early tours of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nick Zinner did not photograph the band, but the audience – shooting from the edge of the stage, often during the song Maps. His camera turns toward faces, proximity and collective focus. The work shown here was taken in Berlin in 2004 – at a time when concerts were not yet shaped by smartphones, but by presence.
“Berlin, 2004” is part of the ongoing series Crowds – a photographic exploration of the fragile moment between stage and audience. The images are less about concert documentation and more about social presence, created just before digital media fundamentally changed our visual culture.
