about

Founded in Berlin in 2004, janinebeangallery is a curatorially driven gallery dedicated to international contemporary art.

The gallery builds focused, long-term relationships with a select group of artists, supporting the sustained development of their practices. Its programme encompasses painting, sculpture, photography, drawing and installation art.

The gallery represents established visual artists—including Andrea Damp, Florian Fausch, Jose Girl and Armando Mariño—as well as artists whose visual practices have evolved from other creative disciplines.

Among them are musicians Peter Doherty, Nick Zinner and James Johnston, actor Max Giermann and filmmaker Till Franzen. Their interdisciplinary backgrounds introduce distinct perspectives on artistic processes, materiality and visual composition. The resulting dialogue between different creative traditions is a defining element of the gallery’s programme.

Alongside its exhibition programme in Berlin, janinebeangallery regularly develops international projects, including initiatives in Copenhagen, Los Angeles and Bologna. The gallery has collaborated with institutions and organisations such as the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Scion Installation (Toyota) in Los Angeles, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Berlin, the New York Academy of Art, the Québec Government Office, and the Embassy of Luxembourg.

janinebeangallery is a member of the Federal Association of German Galleries and Art Dealers (Bundesverband Deutscher Galerien und Kunsthändler e. V.).
