Artistic Position<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Peter Doherty\u2019s visual practice has developed alongside his work as a musician, poet and author. Drawings, paintings, collages, typewriter art and found objects form a personal archive of figures, fragments of text, symbols and recurring motifs. Many works are created directly and preserve the traces of their making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n His artistic practice is not to be understood as a secondary activity to his musical career. Over more than twenty years, Doherty has developed a distinctive visual language in which biography, literature, memory and cultural observation converge.
