Drawings, paintings, collages, typewriter art and found objects form a personal archive of figures, fragments of text, symbols and recurring motifs. Many works are created directly and preserve the traces of their making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His artistic practice is not to be understood as a secondary activity to his musical career. Over more than twenty years, Doherty has developed a distinctive visual language in which biography, literature, memory and cultural observation converge. His works move between intimacy and public mythology, functioning both as visual diaries and as an independent artistic practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Selected Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Exhibitions include the Bankrobber Gallery in London and Galerie Chappe in Paris.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Solo exhibitions include C<em>ontain Yourself (Seriously)<\/em> in 2022 and <em>Felt Better Alive<\/em> at the janinebeangallery in 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First museum exhibition in 2023, <strong>Beyond Fame, at the NRW Forum D\u00fcsseldorf<\/strong>, presenting more than forty works spanning over two decades.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The janinebeangallery has represented Peter Doherty\u2019s visual work since 2017 through exhibitions, editions and publications.
