Exhibition ‘I AMsterdam YOU BErlin’ during Gallery Weekend Berlin.

During the Gallery Weekend Berlin, taking place from April 26 until April 28 2013, three galleries from Amsterdam and three galleries from Berlin organize an exhibition in one of Berlin’s art district. In the St. Johannes Evangelist Kirche on Auguststrasse 90 they will present primarily German and Dutch artists. This exhibition is a fusion of diverse works of art in different genres including paintings, sculptures, photography and video art.

The participating galleries from Berlin are: Galerie Jarmuschek + Partner, janinebeangallery and Galerie Tammen + Partner. Amsterdam is represented by: Witteveen visual art centre, Galerie Pien Rademakers and Galerie Bart. They present work from among others: Ron Amir, Frode Bolhuis, Femke Dekkers, Casper Faassen, Eva Roovers, Jochem Rotteveel, Tanja Selzer, Chantal Spit, Femke Teussink and Barbara Wijnveld.

Next to the Berlin Art Week, the Gallery Weekend is temporarily the biggest (inter)national art event in Berlin, which attracts art collectors from all over the world. 51 galleries are participating in the official program of the Gallery Weekend, taking place for the ninth time this year.

‘I AMsterdam YOU BErlin’ is a unique, international event with a Dutch flair, setting new impulses to the numerous art events taking place in Berlin. Further, this unique location allows you to enjoy an exhibition with interesting and contemporary art. Come and take a journey through the modern and contemporary art sphere and allow yourself to get traveled away.

During the opening on Friday the 26th of April Dutch artist Jochem Rotteveel will build an installation with tape in the church. On Saturday the 27th of April at 4 PM an interactive discussion about the present-day Dutch and German art will take place.

Visit this exhibition and discover the similarities and differences between these artists. Furthermore the gallerists and many of the artists are present to inform you about the art.
